Friday The 13th: The Game Finally Gets A Patch For Xbox One

Fans have been waiting for a new patch for the Xbox One version of Friday the 13th: The Game – even going as far as to trash the new project announced by Illfonic, the developers of the game, in protest.

But those fans can probably rest a little easier today, as Illfonic announced that a new patch has been released for that version of the game. In a statement released by the developer, it noted that the patch will allow the game to function similarly to the other versions on the market.

"The team has significantly reduced crash instances and performed a major sweep on bugs that have been persistent with the Xbox version. Our sincere apologies for the time that this has taken to arrive, but we will be monitoring the patch and are already working on additional fixes. We believe this patch will greatly increase playability and bring the game in line with other platforms."

So far, fan feedback has been pretty good, though not everyone has downloaded the patch just yet.

There are a number of items involved with the patch, including a fix that takes care of memory issues surrounding the game, and also allows the game to be updated in the first place – something that the previous patch had difficulty doing. There are also notable improvements in the areas of gameplay issues, balances, matchmaking and crashes. Oh, and matchmaking is supposedly a lot easier, though we have yet to try out the patch ourselves.

In addition, Jason now has his abilities balanced, and you should be able to save the game lot easier than you were used to before.

We'll let you know if any issues pop up once it's applied to the game. In the meantime, you can read the patch notes here. It shouldn't take too long for the patch to download, and you should be able to see some of the changes once a few matches settle in.
