Another new Killer has joined the ranks of the growing roster of menacing Dead by Daylight murderers, a Killer called the Huntress who is introduced with the Lullaby for the Dark chapter.

All of the Killers in the game bring a troubled, violent background with them that fuels their desire to kill the Survivors, and the new Huntress is no different. Left alone in a harsh wooded environment after her mother died, the Huntress survived on her own in the forests, hunting humans and animals alike in order to survive. Within the Trials that Survivors and Killers face each other in, she's maintained these strengths that now allow her to locate survivors and stay on their tails all while looking extremely eerie with mismatched clothes and an uncomfortable rabbit mask.

The Huntress' power sets her apart from other Killers even more than powers usually do, giving her a ranged combat option that hasn't been seen before in this form. She begins the match with five throwable hatchets that can be refilled at lockers. Charging up the throw increases the throw speed, allowing her to take down targets from a distance and make plays against pallet loopers.

The Killer comes with three new perks as usual, all of which can be seen below:

Territorial Imperative

  • Unlocks potential in one's Aura Reading ability. Survivors' Auras are revealed to you when they enter the basement and you are more than 24 meters away from the basement entrance.

Beast of Prey

  • Your lust for a kill is so intense that your connection with the Entity is momentarily lost, making you totally unpredictable. The red stain disappears for a limited time once Bloodlust kicks in.

Huntress Lullaby

  • Your hunt is an irresistible song of dread which muddles your prey's attention. Survivors within your terror radius receive a regression penalty when missing any Skill Check. Each time a Survivor is hooked, Huntress Lullaby grows in power; the time between the Skill Check and its sound warning becomes shorter.

Like with previous Dead by Daylight chapters, A Lullaby for the Dark also comes with another Survivor and a new map tied to the Killer. The Survivor, David King, is a character who can take a beating with perks that allow him to act both as a lone wolf and as a team player.

A Lullaby for the Dark is currently free for PC players, but no release date has been announced for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions.
