Metroid Gets Two New Pieces Of Art To Promote Samus Returns

We're still a few weeks away from experiencing the return of 2D Metroid with Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS and 2DS, but that isn't stopping Nintendo from celebrating the forthcoming return with a pair of great artistic pieces featuring Samus in action.

Nintendo of Australia posted the artwork earlier this weekend, featuring the heroine taking on aliens in a couple of heroic poses. The first has her firing a barrage of blasts from her cannon, attempting to wipe out a few enemies, while the second is more up close and personal, as she knocks an alien into the midst of next week with a well-timed uppercut. You can check out the images below.

Now, there's no word yet if you'll be in this kind of action in Samus Returns, but we wouldn't be surprised if you could get so visceral within the game, based on the video that we have seen.

Metroid: Samus Returns arrives on September 15th for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.
