Pokemon Go
officially added the Legendary Pokemon Moltres to the game on Monday afternoon, although its introduction was a bit...odd. The game's developer added Moltres at 4:15 PM ET on Monday, but only in one location: a park in downtown Bellevue, Washington.

While Bellevue, WA (a satellite city of Seattle) might seem like a random place for the first ever Moltres raid, there's actually a method to Niantic's madness. In addition to being the site of the first Moltres raid, it's also the home for The Pokemon Company's US headquarters. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Niantic launched the first Moltres raid just three blocks from the Pokemon Company's headquarters.

The lone Moltres raid doesn't seem to be a fluke either. Although there's other Pokemon Go gyms in Bellevue (in fact, there's a gym located in the building where the Pokemon Company's offices are at,) it looks like someone had a sense of humor when planning the first Moltres gym.

The actual location of the Moltres raid is a sculpture called "Water, Precious Water." The irony, of course, is that Moltres is a Fire-Type Pokemon and is naturally weak to water. It's a goofy little joke, but it certainly suggests that this was a deliberate action instead of a stray glitch or an accidental early release

While the Bellevue Moltres raid ended just a few minutes before this article's publication, we haven't heard about any other Moltres popping up anywhere else. For now, it looks like Pokemon employees were the first Pokemon Go players to have a chance of battling and catching Moltres, along with a few lucky passersby.
