Telltale Games had a pair of announcements today that should leave Minecraft fans in a tizzy as they continue the second season of Story Mode – or discover the debut season for the very first time on a new system.

First up, the company confirmed that the next episode for Minecraft: Story Mode Season 2 will make its debut starting on August 15th, with Episode 2: Giant Consequences. It will be released for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC and mobile devices.

There are spoilers for the first episode, so make sure you read this synopsis for Episode 2 with extreme caution:

"Jesse and the gang survived the Sea Temple, but they brought home a little more than they bargained for: a lost adventurer, a powerful device, and a colossal enemy capable of grinding Beacontown to dust. There may be more to this fearsome foe than meets the eye, but to find out, Jesse – together with a few trusty friends – must embark on another adventure, this time into the icy unknown…"

The other episodes should follow monthly, though release dates for the remaining episodes haven't been given just yet.

Meanwhile, for those of you wondering when the first season of Story Mode is set to make its debut on Nintendo Switch, good news – you won't have to wait too much longer. Telltale confirmed today that the debut season will make its way to Nintendo's platform starting August 22nd, and will consist of eight episodes. There's no word yet on when Season 2 is set to come to the platform, but it'll be at a later time.

Telltale has been keeping quite busy as of late, between Minecraft's continuing story arc, as well as the announcements for Batman: The Enemy Within, which debuts next week; a new (and final season) for The Walking Dead that'll happen sometime next year, and the return of The Wolf Among Us, which has been a fan favorite for some time, and will no doubt please them again when it debuts next year.

In the meantime, Minecraft fans should gear up – August is going to be quite the bumpy month.
