A lot of hype has been going into 2K Sports' forthcoming NBA 2K18, including a video showcasing the new art that looks absolutely fantastic. But we haven't heard a peep from NBA Live 18 in a little while, and we were left wondering just how EA Sports' hoopfest was shaping up. Well, today, we got a whole lot of news about it.

The company first announced that players will be able to get their hands on the game starting tomorrow, with a demo that will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Players will be able to check out what the gameplay for the forthcoming b-ball fest is all about, as well as see how well its visual engine is coming together.

On top of that, there will be weekly Live Events with the demo that will carry over into the full game, allowing you to partake in raid-style activities and have fun with certain rewards and characters.

They won't have to wait too long after that to see how the final game fares, as EA Sports has also confirmed that the game will be releasing on September 15th for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, a little earlier than when NBA 2K18 is set to arrive (September 19th). Whether this will give the team an advantage has yet to be seen, but it'll be interesting to see how things shape up.

EA Sports also revealed the cover star for the game, and it's none other than the outspoken Houston Rocket himself, James Harden. The bearded superstar will be gracing the cover in two different versions, in street wear and his official Rockets uniform. No word yet if his curious glance will be included, but you can see him in action in the trailer above.

Said Harden about the opportunity, "When I heard about working with EA Sports and being the cover athlete of NBA Live 18 I was pretty excited for the opportunity. NBA Live 18 is all about creating your own identity and making your mark on the league, and I can definitely relate to that. If anybody knows about creativity it's me."

Last but certainly not least, those of you interested in pre-ordering the game will be able to score a 33 percent discount off the price, bringing it down to ten percent. If you're a member of EA Access on Xbox One, you can stack an additional ten percent off that price as well, bringing it down even further.

We'll see how NBA Live 18 fares over the next few weeks. Good luck, squad!
