It appears that Nintendo could be hoping on the customization bandwagon when it comes to delivering Nintendo Switch experiences that cater to certain kind of gamers.

Now don't get into a tizzy right away. This customization options leans more towards accessories with the Nintendo Switch system, rather than the system itself. But it could be a small step in getting better options in the future – and yes, we would pay mad money for a Super Smash Bros. designed Switch system. Just saying, Nintendo.

Anyway, according to DualShockers, the publisher has noted that its online store in Japan will be taking pre-orders for custom Nintendo Switch sets, starting next week on August 22nd. From there, the pre-orders will be shipped sometime in October. This will allow some people to breathe a little easier, since the system is becoming quite hard to find over there.

This includes selecting across five different colors for Nintendo JoyCon controllers, as well as seven different colors for the strap. These vary, including grey, neon red, neon blue, neon yellow and neon green, with the additional colors of black and neon pink for straps.

Now, a lot of these colors of JoyCons are already available on store shelves, as some new colors were released alongside Splatoon 2 when it arrived last month. While that may not be groundbreaking news, the fact that Nintendo may be open to customization orders is, and could lead to better options in the future.

And this guarantees that the system will be in stock for people and ship at a specific time, rather than having to wait for them to come back in or, worse yet, paying a higher amount to get them off of a site like eBay. That said, there is a slight hitch – you won't be able to cancel your pre-order once it's placed.

Orders placed around August 22nd will ship starting October 1st, with future orders following in the month depending on when they're placed. So you'll be waiting a bit, but, yes, you'll be guaranteed a Nintendo Switch.

Keep in mind, again, this is just for Japan at the moment. However, if the program is a success, it could easily come over to our shores as well, and that would mean good news for those trying to get their hands on a Switch this holiday season. We'll let you know what the publisher does.
