It's the middle of the month, which means Microsoft has swapped out its Games With Gold titles with a pair of other games that fans are sure to enjoy. So we thought we'd take a look at the two games that are available for download now – and they're both worth it.

First up is Trials Fusion. The latest chapter of Ubisoft and RedLynx's side-scrolling Trials racing series, this one takes place in the near future, where you find your rider facing off in a number of futuristic tracks, trying to get the best completion times that you can without crashing that often. The early tracks are fairly easy to beat – but good luck taking on the more challenging ones later on.

The free offering is just for the core game, and doesn't include its expansions. However, they're pretty cheap, so you can stack them onto the main game.

As for the second game, it's THQ's Xbox 360 shooter Red Faction: Armageddon, the sequel to the open-world game Red Faction: Guerrilla. While this sequel doesn't quite follow the same structure (it's more linear than open-world), it's pretty exciting, as you take on a race of deadly aliens while trying to keep a futuristic world from falling apart.

What we like the most about Armageddon is the selection of awesome weapons, including an auto shotgun that packs a punch, a magnet gun that literally draws opponents away from you, and a heavily powered mech suit that kicks all sorts of ass.

Armageddon is free through the end of the month, and you can download Trials Fusion through September 15th. In addition, you can still download the innovative first-person adventure Slime Rancher through the end of the month. We'll let you know what new games are announced for September in a couple of weeks.
