Friday the 13th: The Game Confirms New Jason, Kills, Maps, and More

A New Jason
With several playable Jason Voorhees versions already in the game and a Retro Jason variation recently released, Friday the 13th: The Game has officially made it known that a new Jason is in the works.
Unfortunately, beyond knowing that another Jason is coming, the website doesn't offer a great deal of info as far as what players can expect. The subsection of the "news" area of the site only says that a new Jason is in the works and that more information is expected to come soon, the listing having a TBD release date.
Updates on the new Jason will likely come from the game's social media accounts as soon as it's released on the site, so be sure to keep up with them on Twitter to hear about the new Jason as soon as he's discussed.
prevnextTwo More Counselors
Whether you prefer to play as Jason or as a Counselor, future updates will have content for everyone with two more Counselors also on the way.
Unlike the page about the new Jason, the Counselors' page shares just a bit more detail on what to expect. Like Counselors that are currently in the game, it appears that these new additions will either be based on popular Friday the 13th franchise characters or they'll be completely new Counselors.
"Will these be totally new counselors, walking the trails of Crystal Lake for the first time?" the new Counselors page asks. "Or we will be welcoming back some familiar faces to Camp Blood?"
These Counselors also have a TBD release date like Jason, but to keep both sides balanced, it wouldn't be out of the question to think that the two releases would come one after the other or at the same time.
prevnextA New Playable Map
Among all other requests, one of the content additions that's asked for the most is new maps. Putting that request to rest, a section covering new maps on the news site claims that yes, another map that's from the original movies is on the way.
"Did you guys really think we weren't working on new maps?" the map news section reads. "The previously announced smaller maps were just the start. We have new maps already in production, with this one coming sooner than you might think. This playable map is ripped straight from the films. Stay tuned to see the reveal of this new map."
Where that map will take players is still unknown, but speculation in the past has been in no short supply. One frequent suggestion is a Manhattan map, but regardless of what film it's based on, players will surely be happy to at least have more than three maps to play on.
prevnextNew Clothing Packs
Two new clothing packs were also announced, one of which already has a name and a price and the other not having many details at the moment.
The named clothing DLC is a Spring Break pack that contains summer-themed clothing for the Counselors. Other Counselors' clothing options haven't been previewed yet, but Tiffany's has on the site, shown above.
"It's Spring Break at Camp Crystal Lake, and the counselors have decided to break out their trunks and bikinis!" the clothing pack section says. "That's right campers, introducing the Spring Break 1984 swimsuit clothing pack."
The Spring Break pack has a price of $3.99 with a limited sale marking it down to $1.99, but the release and sale dates haven't been revealed.
A second clothing pack is also listed on the sites, but no details were provided.
prevnextNew Kills For Every Jason
Pulling off Jason's kill animations is one of the most satisfying parts about being randomly selected to play as the killer, and soon, players will be able to get much more creative with their options.
Previously, it was previewed through official Twitter accounts associated with the game that they were working on more motion capture segments. The clips certainly looked like kills, but while it was still unclear whether they'd be for certain Jasons or a new Jason, we know now that every Jason is getting more kills.
"We are adding new kills for ALL Jasons!" the site reveals. "That's right, all Jasons currently in the game are getting new kills added."
How many kills will be added and what they'll be like has yet to be announced, but with the way the motion capture kills have been teased in the past, expect more news about that to come sooner rather than later.
prevnextAn Updated Retro Jason
Retro Jason was added not too long ago as a homage to the 8-bit killer from the first Friday the 13th video game, but the Jason version is already receiving an update.
"We're going to be removing Retro Jason for a little TLC work," the site explains. "Don't freak out, it will only be a month or so. We have some plans for this Jason, as we will be adding new music that both the counselor AND Jason hear during gameplay. And trust us, you'll like the results."
When the Jason variation was released, players were initially quite excited about the retro theme but were a bit disappointed to realize that the music wasn't audible for both Jason and the Counselors. This update should take care of that and perhaps more after Retro Jason is returned to players.
