Bluehole's Playerunknown's Battlegrounds has been a huge sensation on the PC front since its Early Access release a while back, attaining record user numbers as a result and becoming a big multiplayer hit. And it appears that it won't be too long before Xbox One owners will be able to do the same.

During today's Xbox Gamescom presentation, a new trailer for the game has premiered, featuring more of the action that we can come to expect from the Xbox One version of the game. It appears to be on the same level of graphic quality as the PC version, and will probably utilize the Xbox One X tech at some point so that it looks even better on that system. Bluehole is working directly with Microsoft on the console version of the game, so they have plenty of resources at their fingertips.

"Our goal is to deliver the best Battle Royale experience to a global audience and our partnership with Microsoft will allow us to do just that," said Chang Han Kim, VP of Bluehole, Inc and Executive Producer for PUBG. "This partnership with Microsoft will accelerate the development and delivery of PUBG to console players around the world as we utilize their vast resources and impressive technical, sales and marketing expertise."

"I couldn't be more excited to be working with the team at Bluehole to bring Playerunknown's Battlegrounds exclusively to our players on Xbox One this year," said Phil Spencer, Head of Xbox. "We've been huge fans since the very earliest days, and worked hard to bring the game successfully to our E3 briefing. The announcement of our publishing the game on console today is an evolution of the strong partnership we've been building over many months."

You can see the new trailer above…and, better yet, you won't have to wait too long for it. According to the trailer, the game will be making its way to the Xbox One later this year. That's right, it's coming out this year.

It's unknown as to what capacity the game will be released. After all, the PC version is currently in Early Access, and there's no note on a "full" release. The Xbox One version could be the same way, going into the "Early Preview" program with its release, with a "full" arrival sometime in 2018. But nevertheless, it's great news that fans will be able to yell, "Winner winner, chicken dinner!" on consoles sometime this year. Hopefully it won't be too long before we get introduced to the full game – or, at the very least, a beta.

We'll keep you informed when we hear something further. In the meantime, enjoy the trailer above, and watch out for them frying pans!
