Friday

Ever since its arrival earlier this year, Friday the 13th: The Game has been an enjoyable multiplayer experience, whether players will taking the role of a hapless counselor trying to avoid getting killed, or the merciless Jason Voorhees, who mows down said counselors like blades of grass (if he gets close enough before they get away, that is).

But there's one component of the game that players still haven't seen just yet – the single player content. The team at Gun Media promised that the content would be coming sometime this summer, but stopped just short of providing details in terms of what players can expect from it. And today, we got an update indicating that it's still going to be a ways off.

A fan recently asked the official Friday the 13th Twitter account about the content, noting, "Any news or updates about singleplayer? It's only a few days left of August, & the summer is almost over."

Sadly, the account didn't have any good news to report. "Single player is a work in progress," the team noted. "No official release date yet. We want to be satisfied before we unleash it! Please stay tuned!"

That said, there could be the possibility that we could get a glimpse of Friday the 13th: The Game's single player DLC in a couple of weeks, as the team will reportedly make the trek to PAX West in Seattle in just a few days' time. Nothing has been confirmed, though, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that we'll be seeing something new.

Still, that isn't stopping fans from asking what we can expect. Some questions have arisen, like "Is it the same for offline mode? Or will it be released sooner? Will it be released together with the next patch or just as a solo update?" No answers have been given to these questions just yet, so we're waiting to see what happens.

At least the team isn't rushing on the content, so that has to be good news, at the very least. It'll arrive sometime this year, fingers crossed.

Friday the 13th: The Game is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
