Gamestop just revealed that, starting today, players who trade in six games at once will get an extra 60% of their value tacked on to the total credit reward. If you trade in four games, you'll get a 40% bonus. If you trade in two, you get a 20% bonus. Pro rewards members get an extra 10%. This promotion will last until September 3, and trade-in values for games tend to go up toward the end of the month, so it may be worth holding on for a few days before you trade in.

If you've been around the block for a while, then you'll probably remember something like this happening not too long ago. Are you familiar with the term "tradegeddon?" A while back Gamestop held a pair of great promotions which, on their own, gave gamers a pretty sweet incentive to trade in their old games and check out some new ones. One promotion, like this one, rewarded players for trading in multiple games at once, tagging on an extra percentage value. Additionally, used games were buy 2 get 1 free.

It didn't take long for a few crafty shoppers to realize that they could score groups of cheap games with the buy 2 get 1 free promotion that yielded net-positive returns when traded in. Customers privy to this method were stocking up on certain Nintendo games that hold an impressive trade-in value and then turning right back around and flipping them for a profit. They did this over, and over, and over again until they amassed over a thousand dollars in trade-in credit.

This time the pot isn't so sweet. There isn't an across-the-board buy 2 get 1 free promotion on used games, but if you're a Power Up Pro Rewards member, then you probably have a few B1G1F promotional coupons waiting for you in your rewards account. It's not going to offer the same kinds of returns, but it's definitely something. And, if you're like me, then you very likely have a bunch of games sitting around that you're never going to play. Trade those suckers in, and get yourself a new game; or two games; or a new console!
