Nintendo may be focusing on its forthcoming line-up of games for Nintendo Switch and 3DS at Gamescom this week, but it hasn't forgotten about the great games it's already released this year – and that includes ARMS.

With that, the publisher has announced that it has added a new fighter to the game, in the form of a colorful clown-like character by the name of Lola Pop. The company describes her as a "well-traveled clown with a personality as colorful as her clothing." She uses nunchuck-like arms, as well as the ability to use an expansive shield arm that can actually turn enemy blows against them, in a cool defensive technique.

Lola Pop is being introduced to the game via a new patch, which should be available now. Along with the new character, you'll also gain access to a new stage, which takes place in an outdoor street, filled with people and a slight twist as you fight your opponents like mad. You can catch a glimpse of the new character and the fighting area in the trailer above.

And for those of you that haven't had a chance to check the game out yet, you'll get yet another weekend in which you'll be able to do so. An all new event will take place this weekend, where fans can check out the game at no charge, and its cavalcade of fighters, stages and arms that come with it. So make sure you download the available beta and get in on the fighting action!

ARMS is available now for Nintendo Switch.
