We find it a bit odd that Capcom isn't considering a U.S. release for Monster Hunter XX for the Nintendo Switch, especially given the popularity of both the series and the platform. But maybe we'll get it someday – especially now that it includes a vaery famous outfit or two in the mix.

The game officially arrived in Japan today, and to celebrate the release, Capcom of Japan has released a new trailer that features a very familiar character from the Nintendo lexicon – Link from The Legend of Zelda series.

Well, not so much him as his goods, so that you can dress like him – but make no mistake, it's Link's stuff. Players have the ability to dress in Link's classic blue tunic, as well as his more traditional green hero tunic, and Korok costumes. For good measure, you'll also be able to equip special audio and music taken straight from the Legend of Zelda series.

The content isn't available yet, but it is releasing for free later this week, as it will be available to download starting on September 1st. There's no word yet if you'll be able to use it right off the bat, or if you need to purchase it from a shop, but hopefully we'll get an answer soon enough.

This isn't the first time that a Link costume has been featured in a Switch game, as Skyrim: Special Edition will have some sort of get-up that works the same way when it arrives later this year.

That said, there's still no official word as to when – or even if – Monster Hunter XX will make its way to our shores. That said, we are getting Monster Hunter: World, so there's always the possibility that Capcom could consider cross-platform coinciding releases to go along with one another. We'll let you know if the company officially announces anything.

In the meantime, if you feel like importing the game, the Switch is region free, though you'll need to wade through a lot of Japanese language. Check out the trailer above and get to monster hunting!
