Nintendo Reveals Limited Edition Nintendo Power Covers For SNES Classic Edition
We’re just a few weeks away from the arrival of the SNES Classic Edition on store shelves, [...]
Super Mario World
First up, there obviously has to be a cover devoted to Mario, since he's such an iconic face that ties in with the SNES Classic. And what better game to celebrate than Super Mario World? This platformer helped define the 16-bit Nintendo era, after all, with plenty of hidden secrets (like Star Road!) and the introduction of Yoshi. This cover looks great, and, man, what we wouldn't give to frame a physical edition to show our love for all things Nintendo and Nintendo Power. Now, if we could just get a Yoshi's Island variant…
Nah, we're not being picky. Are we?
prevnextThe Legend of Zelda
Next up, we have the return of the classic hand-drawn Legend of Zelda art that we saw in Nintendo Power years ago, brought back to once again advertise The Legend of Zelda: A Link To the Past, which will be included amongst the 20+ titles on the SNES Classic. It's a classic worth rediscovering, especially with its top-down old-school art style. This cover would look pretty great on our wall as well, even if Link has grown up quite a bit with the recently released The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Hey, at least it's not the crappy CD-I art style. Yikes.

Last but not least, Nintendo Power fans may recall the classic hand-drawn cover of the crew from the Star Fox series. Well, they're baaaaaack. One of the new Nintendo Power covers pays tribute to the never-released Star Fox 2, and we see a lot of familiar faces make the cut – along with some new ones that will no doubt be introduced with the sequel. This is probably our favorite cover of the three, and, yep, we'd love to frame this one as well.
Hopefully, we'll see Nintendo prep a few more covers for giveaway, like with Super Castlevania IV, Contra III: The Alien Wars and Super Mario Kart. Please?
The SNES Classic Edition releases on September 29th for $79.99.
