NetherRealm Studios today revealed that we're finally getting our first look at some high-level Black Manta gameplay in Injustice 2 tomorrow!
The stream will kick off at 3PM central, and we'll be hosting the entire thing right here for you to enjoy, so be sure to check back on our home page a few minutes before the stream goes live. They didn't give us much notice, but we're perfectly fine with that:

It's been a while since Fighter Pack 2 was revealed, and we've been asking for Black Manta for so long. We assumed that he would become another strong zoner, similar to Deadshot. Every time we saw him he was shooting lasers, holding a rifle, or firing off missiles. All of the telegraphing seemed to indicate we were getting another long-range tyrant for competitive play, but that all changed with his debut gameplay trailer.
If you look back at the gameplay trailer, you'll see that the majority of Black Manta's moveset utilizes his dual daggers, and his missiles and lasers are more for starting or finishing combos, respectively. We kept waiting to see his trademark trident, which is sadly underutilized, but he does whip it out for his super move. I guess we already have a prominent trident-wielder in Aquaman.
Even with the gameplay trailer showcasing some of Black Manta's cooler combos, it's more than worth sticking around for the Watchtower stream. The gameplay trailer was highly choreographed and meant first and foremost to make Black Manta look cool. Tomorrow, we get to see Black Manta compete at the command of an experienced player who knows him down to his most subtle frames. If you plan to main Black Manta, or if you want to make sure you can ward him off when he floods the online scene after launch, be sure to tune in!
