With the PC version of Final Fantasy XV confirmed, Hajime Tabata, the game's director, recently spoke about mods and the multiplayer aspect of the game that'll be added with an upcoming update.

During an interview with PC Gamer, Tabata discussed several topics ranging from earning gamers' trust to what they expect from the PC version of the game. When building the game for PC players, Tabata explained that it was important for them to keep in mind the aspects that PC gamers would look for, a straight console-to-PC port not among those desires.

"We understood that if we did a simple port of the console version, the kind of people who only play games on PC really wouldn't be interested, they wouldn't be so excited by a version that's just like that," Tabata told PC Gamer.

After confirming once again that the PC version of Final Fantasy XV will have its own official modding tool, Tabata opened up more about the ways that FFXV deviated from tradition and will continue to do so with the game's PC release.

"Certainly traditionally Final Fantasy has a bit of an image that everyone has the exact same experience and shares that experience with everyone that plays the game," Tabata said. "With Final Fantasy 15 we went in a slightly different direction, right from the start the way the whole game is structured and created gives each individual player their own individual and unique FF15 journey. I certainly think the modding community is going to resonate with that and the idea that you can change it any way they want is exciting."

Tabata previously spoke about the possibility of nude mods making their appearance in the PC game, something that seems pretty likely given that it's been left up to the morals of players with no plans to restrict player-made content.

Regarding the multiplayer component of the game, Tabata explained that they'll have that feature available at the PC version's release if everything goes according to plan.

The PC version of Final Fantasy XV is scheduled for a release in early 2018.
