Usually, when you come across fighting champs, they're busy boasting about how well they performed in a match, and don't really hear about what they intend to do with their prize winnings. But one champion from DreamHack Montreal explained exactly what he's doing with his grand prize victory – he's helping out others in need.

A Street Fighter V player by the name of Du "NuckleDu" Dang managed to score a first place victory at DreamHack Montreal this weekend, and, while posting a picture of himself with the trophy, he explained what he'll be doing with the prize money, according to his Twitter account.

"1st place at DreamHack Montreal!" he proclaimed. "Donating all of my winnings towards hurricane Irma relief. Thank you for your support guys!"

While a specific amount wasn't noted by Dang, it appears that the prize money that was available for the Street Fighter V tournament was $10,000, so a good portion of that should go towards relief.

Kudos to Dang for being so generous following his victory at the DreamHack Montreal event, where fans got together in a LAN-based convention, taking on each other in a number of competitions. Along with Street Fighter V, this year's event featured a number of popular games, including two Smash Bros. games (for Wii U and Melee on GameCube), Counter Strike: Global Offensive, Hearthstone, StarCraft II and the Capcom Pro Tour.

Other people have been donating to support victims of Hurricane Harvey and Irma over the past few weeks, like Bungie, providing a limited edition Destiny 2 emblem to help out victims, as well as other communities. It's not too late to donate and take part, so feel free to help those unfortunate folks out.

As for Dang, we're likely to see him again in a tournament not too far down the road, especially with more DreamHack events happening, and EVO Japan right around the corner. We can't wait to see what he does next – especially if he's still devoted to helping out charity.

Street Fighter V is available now for PlayStation 4 and PC, and is currently in the midst of its second season.
