Destiny 2’s Leviathan Raid Has Officially Gone Live

If you've been waiting for a big event to surface in Destiny 2 that will challenge your team skills, we're happy to report that is' here.

The Leviathan Raid has officially gone live in Bungie's hit sequel, and if players have a high enough level of Power, they can jump into the fray and see how they fare against the new challenges that await in this Raid.

The company confirmed that the Raid would be set to go earlier today, and that time has passed, so now you can access it simply by going into the game and looking for the Leviathan icon. It should be located right next to Nessus if you access the Director screen.

But it's not for everyone. Game director Luke Smith has noted that the Power level needed to access the Raid is between 260-280, but it should be pretty easy to get there by making progress within the game. (Smith actually recommends you get over the Power level of 270, just to be on the same side.)

The team noted that if you're having trouble with having to complete an advanced Milestone first, you may need to log out and log back in (or leave your current group) before you can activate it. This may only happen if you were logged in the game when the Raid went live, according to them.

The Raid has been talked about for some time, promising to be quite a big one, with chase sequences, mini-bosses and other cool stuff that would challenge your Destiny gameplay skills to their very core. But we won't spoil it for you here. Instead, we recommend jumping into the game with a good Fireteam and taking it head-0on, and seeing what kind of challenges await – as well as what loot you can pick up for completing it.

Smith noted with the Raid that the team really wanted to build "a place you believe is real…a place that you believe could exist. It's unlike anything we've done." And chances are that could be the direction it takes with future Raids – and we can't wait to see how they turn out.
