Here's How Destiny 2 Stacks Up Between the PS4, PS4 Pro, and Xbox One

Destiny 2 is out now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles and already it has experienced its first successful raid since the sequel's launch. With the latest Bungie title being available for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the PS4 Pro - many tech lovers have been wondering just how the shooter stacks up? Digital Foundry has the answer.

In the video above, the popular YouTube channel gave a full breakdown on the differences between platforms for Destiny 2. It will be interesting to see a re-release of results after the Xbox One X launches and the game becomes available on PC in October, but until then - the PlayStation 4 Pro won this round once the game was pushed to the most extreme settings.

The PS4 Pro version had a smoother 4K texturing seen in the gameplay shown, with more efficient rendering in the shadows, the environments, and more. According to Digital Foundry, "In general, the visual set-up is almost identical between the three, but as one of the more demanding settings, Pro's shadow upgrades are a nice boost."

The Xbox One version of the FPS uses a "dynamic resolution system" that alters when needed depending on what's going on in-game. Because of this, the resolution can fluctuate between 1244x1080 to 1920x1080. Taking the Pro out of consideration, both the Xbox One and the PS4 versions ran almost exactly the same on either console.

Because the game hasn't released on PC yet, the levels tested focused on the console stress tests, keeping a consistent 30fps on both platforms. Once the PC version releases, the framerate will be uncapped.
