We've been aching to see more of Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus in action since our hands-on last month, and today, Bethesda delivered with a whopping 22 minutes of new gameplay footage.

In the segment, B.J. Blazkowicz has made his way to New Orleans, which has become riddled with violent Nazi forces. There, he's tasked with making his way to the American Bank, where some allies apparently are being held. It's his mission to infiltrate the Nazi-filled streets, taking them down with all sorts of firepower and eventually trying to convince the folks he rescued to join the resistance.

As you can see from the footage above, Wolfenstein II looks pretty incredible, running at a very rapid frame rate (around 60 frames per second, and pretty steady despite all the explosions that are happening) and featuring all kinds of carnage as you rip enemies apart with your array of weaponry.

The game was recently announced for Nintendo Switch, and while it's unknown if that version of the game would run this smoothly (we won't be seeing it until 2018, after all), if the previously revealed Doom footage was any indication, it should still kick plenty of ass.

In the meantime, the other versions of the game aren't too far off, and the gameplay really provides us with a glimpse of what kind of insane action we're in for – it looks like it even tops the stuff that we've seen in the previously released Wolfenstein games, The Old Blood and The New Order. It's definitely a lot more visceral.

The footage also provides a look at the game's new contraption system. Here's the description straight from Bethesda:

"Each of three new contraptions gives BJ a new ability for taking on enemies and traversing the environment in unique new ways: The Ram Shackles contraption lets BJ ram into walls -- and enemies -- for a devastating blow, Battle Walker takes BJ to new heights, making it easy reach new areas or evade attacks, while the Constrictor Harness will allow BJ to squeeze into tight spots like narrow pipes or vents."

Now we really want to play it.

Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus arrives on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC on October 27th, and early 2018 for Nintendo Switch. Currently, Amazon Prime members can save 20% when they pre-order.
