The SNES Classic has officially launched to give veterans something to quench those nostalgic cravings and newbies a taste of gaming history. To celebrate the latest in classic re-imaginings, Bethesda created their own little tribute to tip their hats off to the Big N. The modified box art depicts Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim as it would have appeared on the SNES - it's pretty cool for not only SNES fans, but fans of the open-world RPG, as well!

The congratulatory nod is an awesome tribute. Why should the players be the only ones to have fun with creative ways to pay homage to their favourite things in the gaming verse? The cover art featured on the box is downright perfect, with the Dragonborn facing off against the fearsome foe in the wintery mountaintops found in-game. With the purple hues and the faded effect, we could definitely see this art being an accurate depiction had this game come out during the SNES era.

If there's one thing we know about Bethesda, it's that they know how to always make conversation turn back to Skyrim. With release after release, and no end in sight for extras for the game such as VR support and neat new mods, of course Bethesda would find a way to tie in the hyped up release for the SNES Classic with their latest in the Elder Scrolls series. We're not mad, though - the game is epic and still continues to be among the most talked about games on the market even still.

Skyrim is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch date slated for later this year.
