In the world of TeamSpeak and Discord, player communication and tools to build that social community are both vital parts of the gaming community. With Blizzard housing so many multiplayer games such as Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, World of Warcraft, and more - it would only make sense for the company to want to implement that same sort of community. According to recent dataminers, it looks that soon many become a reality including that beloved "offline mode" feature!

A recent string of coding has been discovered within the coming update of Battle.net and with those codes comes a mention of an "Offline Mode". The ability to appear offline and have more of a social setting has been something that Blizzard community members have been asking for since forever. Also seen in the uncovered coding were chat groups, profile avatars, icons, and more. Many of the features are very similar to the popular team chat client Discord.

Individual gamers can set their own avatar to represent them, with many presets already in place resembling characters from popular Blizzard titles as well as Destiny 2. Regarding the Offline Mode, there hasn't been much else revealed about it other than it will be included. It's pretty self-explanatory, however, and can be expected to run like other chat channels.

The full list of information, including individual avatars, privacy settings, admin capabilities, and more can all be found right here thanks to MMO Champion.

Battle.net currently has a very basic form of chat and the Offline Mode will be included with the already there Online, Away, and Busy modes. With the mobile application just released, though bare at launch, it would not be surprising at all to see this feature go live in tandum with the mobile app.
