Friday

Gun Media and Illfonic are hard at work on adding new content to Friday the 13th: The Game, including single player content (sorry, no story) and other goods for multiplayer. And today, the team introduced a crucial new piece of content that could be a real treat to fans of the series.

Among the content that's set to arrive this month – since it's Halloween month and all – is a potential new Jason Voorhees build based upon Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter. It appears to be a skin for the existing character, but it's bound to be a treat for fans – and it leaves hopes high that we could see other builds from other movies. (We've been crossing our fingers for a Jason X costume, just for the sake of having it.)

But that's not all. In the tweeted image, which you can also see below, you can see a hint of Tommy Jarvis' house in the background, which is bound to be added as a map to the Friday the 13th game down the road as well.

The team didn't say anything in the tweet, it just showed off the image, so right now details are very minimal. But it looks like both Gun Media and Illfonic are devoted to adding plenty of goodness to keep fans happy, since the game was slightly rough-going with its introduction earlier this year.

We do know, however, that there will be a slight difference with gameplay, mainly with Jason's main weapon from The Final Chapter – the pig splitter. There are a number of different weapons available within the game, but this appears to be helpful at both long-distance and close-range.

We'll let you know once the teams confirm a release date for the content, but we're expecting it to release sometime over the next few weeks. And, like most of Friday's content, it should be free of charge, though that could possibly change if that's not in the plan. We don't see why it wouldn't be, though.

Friday the 13th: The Game is available now for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
