While we just reviewed Forza Motorsport 7 and consider it one of the best racing games for this generation, there are some folks that aren't too crazy about it – and that's because of what's happening with the VIP Pass.

Offered for separate purchase for $20, or included with the $99.99 Ultimate Edition of the game, the VIP Pass has been met with some controversy.

See, in 2015's Forza Motorsport 6, those that had a VIP Pass could earn double credit for each race players took part in. But it's different for part seven, as it basically gives you five mod cards that will give you double racing credit for a grand total of maybe 25 times that you can earn it. And that left some fans feeling burned.

So, the developers at Turn 10 Studios have heard the complaint and vowed to make changes. It promises to make up for its mistakes, with the company's Alan Hartman noting, "We heard loud and clear from Ultimate Edition owners expressing frustration over the VIP membership offer in Forza Motorsport 7. We immediately updated the VIP description in the Windows Store to alleviate any future confusion. As head of the studio, I apologize for any confusion or frustration our players may have experienced."

What will be improved with the pass then? "This new system will work like it did in Forza Motorsport 6, offering a 2X base credit bonus after every race. We've already started work on this feature and we will release it as soon as possible. Look for more information on this update as we near the release date," said Hartman.

And to further make up for the inconvenience, those that have VIP passes will receive a million credits, along with the following cars.

  • 2016 Jaguar F-TYPE Project 7 Forza Edition
  • 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 Forza Edition
  • 2017 Acura NSX Forza Edition
  • 2010 Maserati Gran Turismo S Forza Edition

There are other minor issues affecting the game, particularly the Windows 10 edition, but Turn 10 has noted that it's still working on them. A patch was recently released for the game, and it'll continue to monitor problems in the months ahead.

Forza Motorsport 7 is available now for Xbox One and Windows PC.
