TwitchCon is in full swing and streamers and gamers alike from all over are getting to meet with their favs while also learning a little bit more about what's going on in the video game-verse from industry professionals themselves. One of the tid-bits of info shared during the event comes from Bungie and how the seasons will work in Destiny 2.

During a panel, community manager David "Deej" Dague was joined by two designers from the Bungie Live team to talk a little bit about the events that Guardians have been taking part in within the world of Destiny 2 and what's in store for the future for the shooter.

There's no denying that though many players are enjoying the sequel, the appreciation is definitely divided. Many feel that the game was not worth its price tag at launch and are underwhelmed by the post-game content. Because of this, future events within the game are important when dealing with market interest. From the panel itself, this is the takeaway:

  • Four seasons in total
    • Live now is season 1, season 2 will begin shortly after the PC version launches.
  • Each season brings a Clan reset
    • Unfortunately, clan progress resets back to zero with each new seasonal start. This is put in place to give newer clans the opportunity to be on a level playing field. Bungie stated before launch that they were making the sequel both veteran and newbie friendly, this is one of those instances where that is being put to practice.
  • Ornaments are on the way
    • Season 2 will bring ornaments to Trials of the Nine, Iron Banner, and Faction Rally gear. Each specific ornament will be unlocked by completing a certain challenge to provide player incentive.
  • Each season change will bring larger in-game changes
    • New content, balance changes, and an overall overhaul of the in-game experience will happen as each rotation passes.
  • Season-specific cosmetic items
    • Season-specific items are limited to that season. Once the period is over and a new season begins, the availability of those cosmetic items becomes non-existent.
  • Clarion Calls
    • A global event that will be during a limited amount of time to give Guardians a chance to earn additional XP, it will also not require a clan.

Destiny 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, with a PC release slated for October 24th.
