Where is Festival of the Lost?
Community manager DeeJ took to social media to not only confirm that there would be no Festival of the Lost this year, but also gave a little insight as to why. The gist is that this is season 1 and they wanted to focus on a successful launch and setting the ground work for much of the post-game events seen within the title. With the delayed launch on PC for the first time ever, the team decided it would be better for all if the focus remained on launch rather than limited holiday events.
prevnextNo, Sir. We may see it again someday but Season 1 has been about launch and ritual activation. The first event for Destiny 2 is The Dawning.

Looking back:
It's not unheard of that the Halloween wouldn't take place this close to launch. With the predecessor, the Festival of the Lost didn't come to players until after a year of Destiny 1 becoming available. The focus? Solely on launch. Still, with players biding their time until the next wave of events occur and they continue to look towards the horizon for the first expansion, it's understandable that some would be disappointed in the fact that it will not be available this year. At least it looks like it might be in the cards for next year, that's something!
Destiny 2 is available now for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 now, with a PC release here on the 24th!
