The goal behind Galio's recent changes in League of Legends was to make the AP tank's abilities more rewarding for those with aggressive playstyles, but it appears that the changes have gone a bit too far.

Since Patch 7.21 rolled out earlier on Wednesday, AP Galio builds have been all the rage. In the video seen above, you'll see a shining example of just how devastating a Galio can be once he starts to snowball.

Sure, this Galio's build that's on display consists of some massive AP items like Liandry's Torment, Rabadon's Deathcap, and a Mejai's Soulstealer with some hefty stacks, but the sight of a Veigar getting instantly obliterated by a champion that's supposed to be a tank is still pretty impressive, or alarming if you're on the receiving end. His health bar doesn't even have a chance to move, it's just instantly gone the second that Galio's "Q" lands.

This is due to the better AP ratio and maximum health damage that Galio now has on his Winds of War ability. Galio received this and other changes in the recent patch, a tool that Galio mains and newcomers are now using to obliterate squishy and tanky champions alike.

The warnings of AP Galio's power were definitely there though before the patch. Vandiril, a popular League content creator, recently uploaded a montage of AP Galio blowing enemies up on the PBE with an ominous description that cautioned players that similar builds would be seen soon.

While other champions have had hotfixes pushed quickly for them to reel them back in after they were buffed out of line, Galio has yet to receive his. Riot Meddler said that they'd be "looking at Galio today to see if something's needed there or not," and when pressed about the situation, expanded on some of the potential changes that they'd make.

"Depends on the issue. If his Q is just doing far too much damage over its duration then I'd expect AP ratio on the % damage most likely," he said. "Or if he's now too tanky, maybe the W AP ratio. Or maybe he's on average balanced, but when heavily snowballed does inappropriate things even for a snowballed state, which might mean looking at his power curve in general."

No hotfixes for Galio are on the horizon for now, so if you want to try out a new build, get your AP assassin Galio gameplay in while you can.
