Sony recently took to their public blog to announce that they are prepping to announce 7 new titles for the PlayStation platform in time for the Paris Games Week kicking off next week. The big news is set to begin at 8 AM PT October 30th and according to Sony, it's worth getting hyped about. They even mentioned that "E3 was only half the story," so now we're obviously intrigued.

This is what the Sony camp had to say about the new week:

"The year is winding to a close, but PlayStation is just getting started. This Monday, October 30, PlayStation's Paris Games Week Media Showcase will begin at 9:00am Pacific Time.

But plan to tune in early at 8:00am! We'll begin with an introductory livestream featuring 21 game updates, including seven all-new game announcements for PS4 and PS VR. You won't want to miss it.

Then at 9:00am, our Media Showcase will give you an exclusive new look at the next wave of huge PlayStation titles. After the Showcase, stick around — we'll dive deeper into the biggest announcements coming out of Paris Games Week."

In addition, they promised it will be a "wild day" so for those that don't want to miss the livestreamed events, you can watch the PlayStation showcase here on their Twitch and their YouTube.

With the PlayStation Experience still on the way later this year as well, we're sure that Sony has a lot more up their sleeve to get gamers excited for the end of 2017, and the beginning of next year.

Surprisingly enough, the Sony Forums were littered with requests for a new handheld device following the pre-announcement announcement. With the poor sales that Vita brought in, the amount of gamers either asking for a new portable system or new Vita games is kind of surprising. Still, just a few more days before we can see what the excitement is all about! Stay tuned!
