We haven't heard much about the development of Koji Igarashi's Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night since it was confirmed that the game would be published by 505 Games earlier this year. But today, the producer of the famed Castlevania series provided some new information in terms of what we can expect – as well as a peek at some new stages that will be included in the game.

As part of the update, Igarashi noted the following:

"Courtyards are just as important to an IGAvania as castles, right? Maybe not? Well, this time the courtyard is a very important part of the game, and that's why we're sharing a look at this area.

Zangetsu is a samurai character we've previously announced. He resents anyone and anything tainted by demonic power. As a result, he's hostile toward Miriam, whose existence is directly connected to the demon ritual. This is also a new stage we're introducing for the first time."

You can see this new gameplay that's discussed in this update in the video above. The game is looking really good thus far, though it's still quite deep in development.

In addition, Igarashi also provided a quick listen at the first three tracks that will be included in the soundtrack, including The Executioners, Theme of Johannes and Gears of Fortune, produced by the game music team Noisycroak.

We won't have to wait too much longer for Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, as it's expected to release in the first half of 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PC and PlayStation Vita.
