New Overwatch Hero Revealed: Introducing Moira

Blizzard just revealed the latest hero for Overwatch! Say hello to Moira, an overpowered ninja witch who does massive damage and massive heals. Oh yeah, and she can teleport. Creative Director Jeff Kaplan told the audience exactly how to spell Moira: "OP AF."

Imagine if you crossed Mercy with Zarya, and threw in a little bit of Reaper. That's what we're working with, here.

Moira dishes out huge amounts of damage, and big-time heals, in a few versatile ways. Like Mercy, Moira can project a beam that connects directly to a teammate to administer heals. Alternatively, Moira can also connect directly to an enemy with a dark energy beam that does damage over time. These are her primary modes of healing and doing damage, but she has a fascinating alternate action as well.

Moira can also send out healing and damage-dealing orbs. These orbs will travel through the air and bounce off of walls as their momentum carries them. Healing orbs will heal any nearby teammates, while the dark orbs will damage any enemies who get too close. Projecting a dark orb into a group of oncoming enemies will force them to split up and approach the objective from a different angle. Alternatively, when charge the objective, sending out a healing orb over your party will give them some extra confidence and some much needed backup HP.

Moira can also teleport, or "fade," kind of like Reaper does. It's not instant, but it is fast. Her ultimate ability is basically a Kame Hameha. Moira will project forth a massive beam of dark and light energy, which she can direct and control for a short period of time. Any enemies caught in the path of this beam will receive massive amounts of damage, while allies will receive buckets of health.
