The Nintendo Switch library is about to get a little bit bigger as The End is Nigh finally gets an official release date for the hybrid console! Developer Nicalis Inc officially announced today that the release date is even closer than we expected and we honestly can't wait.

The even better news is that it's not just a digital release, as previously thought - instead there will also be physical option as well for those that prefer to feel that cartridge in their hands. Both versions will also retail for the same price at $29.99. We couldn't possibly do the game's description justice, so as per the official listing:

The End Is Nigh is a sprawling adventure platformer where the player takes control over Ash, one of few "things" that have "survived" the "end of the world".

Follow Ash as he flops his way through a future of pain and suffering. Feel his stress levels rise as you throw him into an endless swarm of decaying, mutant animal-like creatures and help aid his final epic quest... to simply make a friend (out of pieces of people he finds along his journey).

Oh, also you collect video game cartridges and tumors! Ff that does anything for ya.

  • 600+ levels!
  • 12+ explorable chapters!
  • 20+ collectible and fully playable mini game cartridges! (each with their own tiny achievements!)
  • 80+ achievements that will make you feel good about yourself
  • 100s of collectible little squishy tumors!
  • loads of hidden extras and endings that you will probably see someone else find before you do!
  • and stress!

Note: If you purchase one of the awesome products featured below, we may earn a small commission from the retailer. Thank you for your support.

The End is Nigh will be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch on December 12th, let's get dead! Currently, Amazon Prime members can save 20% when they pre-order.
