After only six months, Jon Shafer has departed from his work with Paradox Development Studio. He joined up with the company to work on a new strategy game back in May, and he seemed really excited about it. He even mentioned that it was "exhilarating," but it looks like the honeymoon phase is over because only a short time later, he split citing "creative differences".

In a statement provided by the executive vice president of Paradox:

"Jon is an ambitious person with a lot of drive and passion and he has led some good discussions in our teams over the past few months", said Mattias Lilja - Executive Vice President of Studios at Paradox Interactive. "However, during the course of these discussions, it has become clear that we want different things creatively and we have therefore taken the mutual decision that it is best to part ways. We wish Jon the very best in the next part of his career and would like to thank him for his efforts during his time with us."

Though the specifics revolving around his departure were not revealed, as they rarely are, "creative differences" is hardly something that means a smooth experience. For those looking forward to seeing his work reflected in the new strategy game, Paradox has yet to respond to concerns that the work has been halted by his split from the company.

Shafer has done amazing things throughout his career, including his ongoing work on a new Indie project called At The Gates. We wish him nothing but the best in his future endeavors and we can't wait to see what else Paradox has up their sleeve with the upcoming mystery title.
