Transformers are cool. The Street Fighter franchise is cool. But are Street Fighter Transformers crossover toys cool? Looks like we're going to find out.

The website The AllSpark has recently reported on a new line of toys that looks to combine the classic Transformers toys with Street Fighters to create…a really weird combination. Nevertheless, we're intrigued.

Set to release in Japan in May 2018, these toys are based upon the recent figures that came from the Thrilling 30 and Titans Return sublines from the Generations toy line-up, and features some familiar faces, including Ken, Ryu, Vega (well, M. Bison here) and Chun-Li.

As you can see from the pictures below, they definitely look like authentic Street Fighter characters. The first page features Chun-Li from the original Arcee form, and Ken based upon the Titans Return Hot Rod model.

On this next page, you can see Ryu based on Optimus Prime, as well as Vega (M. Bison) from Titans Return, in Megatron form, of course.

While a bit on the bizarre side, these are sure to be collectible items for Street Fighter and Transformers fans alike. There's no word on a domestic release yet, but considering how Capcom and Hasbro are always companies that like to cater to their fans, we wouldn't be surprised if these were given a domestic release in time for next year's San Diego Comic-Con. We'll keep you informed.

In the meantime, you can always import the toys if you're feeling froggy enough to jump, and then transform them back and forth. And, hey, maybe this'll inspire a Street Fighter Transformers game to come down the line. If it can work for Street Fighter x Tekken, then surely something can be done to make this happen.
