Now that Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is out and fans on the Nintendo Switch are fully invested in the overwhelmingly huge world the title has to offer, the Big N has their sights set on another massive JRPG for the hybrid console. For fans of the Xenoblade series, the news that Xenoblade Chronicles X might be getting switched over to the Switch is an exciting prospect!

The game first made its debut on the massively undersold Wii-U platform, and though it did well given the user base - Nintendo feels that it would have a much higher reception on the Switch console. In a recent interview, Monolith Soft President Tesuya Takahashi sat down to discuss their interest and how nice it would be to see the port see the light of day for the portable console:

"Personally speaking, there are times I feel like playing Xenoblade Chronicles Xand think about how nice it would be to play it on the Nintendo Switch," Takahashi said. "Of course that will depend on demand and such, but I will think about it while discussing future plans with Nintendo."

It's not unrealistic to think that this move is possible for the future. Nintendo has already laid it out that they have big plans for 2018, and we know we've got an "exciting" Nintendo Direct planned for January.

"Fight for survival while exploring the vast expanses of an unknown planet where anything you see is reachable in your weaponized mech, called a Skell. Customize a lethal skill set of combat and defensive skills, called Arts, to strengthen your strategies and defeat enemies efficiently. Attack your enemies from multiple directions using melee weapons, guns, and your greatest asset—your tactical mind."

Meanwhile for the Switch currently, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is available now.
