Square Enix recently released a new trailer for Episode Ignis, the next DLC that's scheduled to be released for Final Fantasy XV.

After releasing DLCs that featured each of the main party members that surrounded Noctis during his journey in FFXV, the new DLC rounds out the group by focusing entirely on Ignis, the fighter, tactician and talented chef. The trailer shows off quite a few of Ignis' abilities such as Overclock and Hight Jump that players will be able to use during combat and exploration. Another interesting move that's being called "Quick Recipeh" looks like it allows Ignis to quickly set up a makeshift cooking station to prepare a meal and likely heal himself among other bonuses.

As far as how the DLC ties into the base game, a description of the expansion on an impressive landing page for the DLC explains what players will do as Ignis while Noctis is incapacitated following the Trial of Leviathan.

"Experience an emotional and breath-taking episode as you take control of the ever-dependable Ignis.

"Unbeknownst to Noctis as he remains unconscious after the Trial of Leviathan, Ignis faces his own fight on the streets of Altissia, driven by his unwavering dedication to protect Noctis at all costs.

"Overwhelm opponents with tactical mastery as Ignis struggles to save the city, his comrades and himself from ruin."

While Episode Ignis might be the last main DLC that players have bene waiting for since Gladio and Prompto received theirs, it's in no way the end of the content coming to FFXV. In fact, more "episodes" are planned to be added throughout the ongoing development of the game, a lifespan that game director Hajime Tabata said will extend well into next year. Recently, the game also received a huge multiplayer expansion that finally allowed Final Fantasy players to create their own characters and interact with other players in the FFXV world.

Episode Ignis is scheduled to be released for Final Fantasy XV on Dec. 13 at a cost, but if you have the season pass for the game, you'll be able to download the DLC as part of your subscription.
