In a New Year's update, Monster Hunter: World producer Ryozo Tsujimoto released a new video, seen below, to let fans know what 2018 will bring. Though the game is slated for a console release later this month, many PC players were wanting to explore the expansive world in the latest Monster Hunter installment themselves. Tsujimoto-san gave the good word, and the game is currently being optimised for PC as we speak. He even gave us a release window.

No word still on a potential Nintendo Switch announcement, a detail that many were quick to point out in the responses, but at least this provides one more platform that the glory that is the Monster Hunter: World can be experienced on. Take a look at the official Twitter post below to hear future plans, and a warm season's greeting:

Tsujimoto spoke a little bit about the fan feedback they've received after the initial E3 reveal and subsequent beta periods. With the game releasing just this month for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, he added: "As for the PC version, we're working hard on it right now, and aiming for an Autumn 2018 release." He and the team promise more details yet to come on exactly where that progress is and what changes, if any, will be made.

He also spoke a bit about the update plans post-launch, confirming that they are planning a plethora of free updates once the game is fully released. The new updates will include tons of new in-game features, including new monsters for players to encounter. As promised, "you've got lots to look forward to!"

Monster Hunter: World releases for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on January 26th of this year, with a tentative placeholder for Autumn regarding the PC release.
