The New Japan Pro Wrestling hosted the yearly Wrestle Kingdom even at the Tokyo Dome on January 4th, and there was definitely a lot of excitement to be had in the realm of wrestling. Turns out, Destiny fans even had something to look forward to when Kenny Omega showed up to take on legendary Chris Jericho wearing a cosplay from Destiny 2's expansion: Curse of Osiris.

We gotta say, Omega, the get up is impressive! He of course is cosplaying Osiris from the first expansion to hit the popular Bungie MMO. For a little background on the character himself:

Osiris was a well respected Warlock that was at once time, a great mentor to the game's Ikora. According to the Destiny wiki, "Before his exile, his student Ikora Rey and his old friend Saint-14 made numerous attempts to bring him back to leading the Vanguard but Osiris refused, growing more obsessed with his research on the Vex. More troubling was Osiris was growing disillusioned with the Speaker and the Consensus, viewing that a single leader ruling wasn't civilization but a dictatorship and saw the Traveler as the bringer of their troubles. As Osiris further immersed himself in his research and neglected his duties as Vanguard Commander, his growing "followers" began to spread his messages and teachings like religious works. Though Osiris resented this behavior, he did nothing to stop it and this furthered the schism between him and his former teacher, the Speaker."

He was a central figure in the Curse of Osiris DLC, and, without spoilers, ties greatly into the appearance of the VEX. There is even a free web comic about the character, for those interested.

As far as the world of Destiny goes - it's definitely been a rocky road since launch. With microtransaction talk, lacking post-campaign content, and more getting the player base up in arms - it will be interesting to see where Bungie takes us in 2018. They have promised big things, and big changes, surrounding player feedback. With a new expansion on the rise, and new seasons to look forward to, it's a waiting game at this point to see how it all comes together.
