Last year, Bethesda shook up the third-party Nintendo Switch landscape by announcing a pair of ports to go along with its previously announced Skyrim: Special Edition for the system. The first was Doom, which dropped last November to rave reviews, and positive reception from fans. But we're still waiting on the second port, Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

Of course, the game will be worth the wait, and it's pretty monstrous in size on other formats, so converting it to the Nintendo Switch is probably a much tougher task than anyone anticipated. That said, however, Bethesda just posted a new update on Twitter, giving players an idea of what they can expect from the forthcoming first-person shooter on Nintendo Switch.

The company noted, "We're happy to confirm our continued development partnership with @PanicButtonGame, who will be bringing Wolfenstein II to #NintendoSwitch," it said in its tweet. "We're excited to share more information on #Wolf2 soon!"

In case you may not recall, Panic Button was the development team that brought Doom over to Nintendo Switch, and did so quite effectively, might we add. The company also worked alongside Psyonix to bring Rocket League to the Nintendo Switch, and did a great job there, also.

As far as this news about sharing "more information on #Wolf2 soon," it sounds like Bethesda may have an announcement regarding a release date, or, at the very least, have some gameplay footage lined up for us. This could possibly come with a future Nintendo Direct hosted by the big "N" itself (since it retweeted the same status update), or perhaps in a behind-the-scenes developer vlog, as it's been known to do with other games in the past. It didn't provide a release date as to when we could expect this, but since the game is slated for a spring 2018 release window, it shouldn't be too much longer before we get to know more.
