Yakuza fans, we're sorry to have to tell you that Yakuza 6 has been delayed. The game is now scheduled to launch on April 17. It's not that big of a push, thankfully, and the good news is that you'll actually get to play the game even sooner than you originally thought. Confused? A demo is on the way, folks, and it's going to be here this month! The official update reads as follows:

"Yakuza 6: The Song of Life's release date is being moved back a month to April 17. This was a tough business decision we didn't make lightly. But -- with bad news, we also have some good -- this gives us more time to line things up for launch, and on February 27, the demo for Yakuza 6 will be available and will allow players to bring their save into the game on release.

"This will be the first time everyone will have a chance to play the game (a moment we have long been anticipating!) and we can't wait to hear what you think about it. We have many new plans to reveal over the coming weeks to give you all more insight into the series, so stay tuned!"

There now, that wasn't so bad was it? We're only going to have to wait a few extra weeks to get our hands on the full version of the game, and those weeks will probably fly by since we'll have a demo to keep us occupied! The fact that save progress carries over from the demo into the full version of the game just sweetens the deal even more.

We hope that the demo will let us venture out into the city and participate in some of that open-ended, open world, Yakuza goodness. The Yakuza series has always been known for its depth of freedom and wacky side-quests, so if we get to dip our toes into the open world even a little bit, then we're sure the demo will be more than enough to hold us over until the real thing is ready.

Take your time, Sega. We love Yakuza very much, and we want Yakuza 6 to be as good as it can possibly be!
