Happy Birthday! Chloe Bennet Turns 24 Today

Today is actor Chloe Bennet's Birthday

Before starring as Daisy "Quake" Johnson (formerly known as Skye) on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Chloe Bennet was a Chinese pop singer and performed under her birth name of Chloe Wang. When she moved back to America to pursue an acting career, she used her father's first name, Bennet, as her new stage name.

"I want to be clear because some of my Asian-American fans seem to think I did that [changed last names] because I didn't want to [be] known as Chinese, but it's so the opposite," she told The Daily Beast. "I just wanted to be known as me and let my personality define who I was, rather than my ethnicity."

Coincidence or not, she booked the first audition she went on after she changed her name. It was a supporting role as Hailey on ABC's Nashville. That same year, 2012, she joined the cast of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. as a series regular, and the rest is history!
