5 Best Lines in X-Men: Apocalypse Final Trailer
. Several trailers, especially teasers, recently have been going with 'less is more,' having as [...]
“Just because there’s not a war doesn’t mean there’s peace… he’s coming.”
Ah, ominous early lines. What's fun about this line, spoken by Mystique, is that it might not actually be about Apocalypse. After all, Magneto is out there, and she's been close to him before. The line is actually even probably about him, unless Mystique somehow finds out about Apocalypse on her own before, seemingly, anyone else.
prevnext“Whatever it is you think you saw in me, I buried it with my family.”
This one, from Magneto, is a bit of a heartbreaker. It seems this is from after he's been influenced by Apocalypse, but it speaks to the never ending friends/enemies nature of Xavier and Erik. We also see Erik holding his family, though it's a bit unclear where in the timeline that clip is from. Has he recently gone and tried to settle down again? We'll find out in a few weeks.
prevnext“Magneto, he’s my father. Him and my mom…”
The moment of pure comedy amidst the two minutes of heaviness and action comes courtesy of Quicksilver. He openly acknowledges that Magneto is his father to Mystique. When she says "What?!" he starts to explain the uh... process. Looks like Quicksilver will be the comic relief in the film.
prevnext“You’re not students anymore, you’re X-Men.”
Look, it's a somewhat cheesy line. It's also one that, if you're a longtime comicbook fan, is just a blast to hear. There's no "Assemble" for this particular superteam, but it's nice to hear the "X-Men" getting a little bit of weight to it. That graduation moment is always a big one for X-Men characters, and it's hard to hold back the swell of excitement when you hear it.
prevnext“We had a… little help.”
Come on, this was just cool. Cyclops delivers the line, as they appear to be in a facility... maybe one for experimenting on mutants? The next sound we hear is "snikt," and it's time for the Wolverine (complete with METAL claws) to appear.
