First, there was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. And, now, one person has made another superhero mash-up with one amazing fan-video. Pitting Blade against Ghost Rider, the trailer for Blade v Ghost Rider: Dawn of Darkness will make you wonder why Marvel Studios hasn't green-lit the film yet.

Uploaded to Youtube, the trailer is a compilation of well-timed clips from the Blade and Ghost Rider films. "I really miss some epic Marvel films that were forgotten like the 90's-2000's Blade series, not soo much Trinity but the other two were great movies," Stryder HD wrote in the video's description. " I thought it would be cool to mashup these two series into an epic storyline."

The video starts out with Blade as the vampiric superhero continues his quest to hunt down his nefarious kin. Going from city to city, the hero leaves a wake of gore and destruction in his past as he learns there are worse things out in his world than vampires.

Of course, that is where Ghost Rider enters the picture. Johnny Blaze and his supernatural powers make vampires look docile. The vengeful character is on a journey to redeem his soul after he barters it to the demon Mephistopheles. In order get his soul back, Ghost Rider is told to slay the one called Daywalker, a directive that ultimately pits the demonic hunter against Blade.

The epic fan-trailer is four minutes of thrilling action. The video imagines what an all-out battle between the two iconic superheroes would look like as Ghost Rider chains Blade down with his arsenal. As for the sword-toting vampire, Blade's hand-to-hand combat skills prove to be dangerous to Ghost Rider at close range.

While the fan-trailer may mark the first on-screen encounter of these characters, Blade and Ghost Rider do have a comic book history. Most notably, the duo teamed when they became members of a supernatural superhero squad called Midnight Sons. The comic ran from 1993-1994 and was created by Ghost Riders Daniel Ketch and Johnny Blaze. Blade and his fellow Nightstalkers joined the team alongside Morbius, the Darkhold Redeemers, and even Doctor Strange for a brief period.

In Midnight Sons, readers did get to see what Blade would look like as a rogue hero. The team is forced to take on Blade once he becomes a demonic creature known as Switchblade.

Of course, it might be awhile before Marvel Studios elects to revive the Blade or Ghost Rider franchises and move them into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the two character may be seen on Netflix sooner rather than later. Given the success of partnership between Marvel and Netflix, sources have speculated that franchises like Blade, Ghost Rider, and even Moon Knight may be adapted for the streaming site.

And, as many already know, Ghost Rider will soon make its small-screen debut in the upcoming season of Agents of SHIELD. The cable series will feature Robbie Reyes as the hellish hero, the latest iteration of the supernatural character.
