Doctor Strange And Fantastic Beasts To Get China Release

China is the second largest film market in the world. When films are granted a release in China, it can add millions of dollars to a movie's gross affecting the international box office.

Doctor Strange and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them will both release in China, which could be a huge win for Marvel Studios and Warner Bros.

According to Variety, "both films appear likely to debut at roughly the same time that they bow in the United States," meaning we won't have to wait longer for box office results.

Marvel movies have always done well in China, Iron Man and Avengers: Age of Ultron each made over 100 million. However, the last Harry Potter movie wasn't as lucky, only pulling in a little over 60 million. Either way, the market has grown increasingly since all three of those films were released, meaning Doctor Strange and Fantastic Beasts could perform even better than previous releases.

China keeps a tight quota on the number of foreign productions it allows to screen in the country, limiting it to 34 non-Chinese films per year, and not all of them are American. The remaning open slots for 2016 are going quickly.

Upcoming films Trolls, Inferno, and Billy Lynn's Long Halftime Walk also scored Chinese release dates. Depending on how much the market continues to grow, that number of only 34 films could always increase.
