Fan Trailer Friday: The Last Of Us Logan Mashup Trailer Is Ridiculously Good

Anytime a story deals with a post-apocalyptic world, there are certain traits bound to show up. Things like a Fragmented society, or a brutal army intent on reclaiming the world for themselves, or a few poor schmoes just trying to make their way through alive. The new Logan trailer had its share of all of these, but it's hard to argue how effective the trailer was at endearing itself to the viewer, regardless of its similarities.

Like Logan, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us was an immensely compelling story of Joel and Ellie, two people just trying to get from one place to the other without losing their lives in a world gone horribly awry. It was celebrated for it's mature and poignant storyline, deep characters, and stealth focused gameplay, and to say there is some overlap between these two products wouldn't be a stretch. Aside from the whole adamantium claws thing of course.

Youtube user Gugga Leunnam recently combined the two properties into a new mash-up trailer, and it's simply fantastic. The trailer overlays the dialogue from the Logan trailer on top of various clips from The Last of Us, and even more than the dialogue, it's amazing how well Johnny Cash's Hurt meshes with the visuals.

The Last of Us wasn't exactly hurting for tension or emotional weight, but that song just takes it even further, and that Xavier line over Ellie is goosebump worthy. "She's like you Logan. She's just like you."

If that line doesn't affect you then your heart is made of stone. Stone!
