Wolverine 3: New Logan Image Teases Possible Violent Spoiler

X-Men fans are getting more and more eager to see Wolverine 3 aka Logan by the day, thanks to a successfully moody and Noir-style marketing campaign. While the Logan trailer made a big splash, it's been the series of teaser images released from the film via social media that has generated the most hype.
Those images have included big villain reveals (Boyd Holbrook's Donald Pierce); fan-favorite character reveals (Dafne Keen's X-23); and moments of the plot that equate to some possible big Spoilers! Today's Logan teaser image fits into the latter category, so be warned, POSSIBLE SPOILERS FOLLOW in our discussion.
The Weapon X Instagram account is the source of this latest image, which depicts a bullet-ridden car door. The make and model of the car his purposely left ambiguous (they're learning...), but savvy fans have rewatched the Logan trailer, and speculate that the vehicle is the Dodge Ram truck Logan drives, and the holes may correlate to where Prof. X (Patrick Stewart) is sitting when Pierce and his Reavers are in a car chase after them, using heavy weaponry. The speculation is that this car is where Prof. X meets his end.
That's an entirely possible scenario, but it's hardly irrefutable. It's hard to confirm from the photo if this is indeed the Ram truck, but the bullet holes seem to be on the passenger's side; Xavier is seen in the trailer sitting on the driver side. He still could be shot and injured on the driver's side, but other evidence points to a different death scene for the Professor.
We already wrote up a different Logan teaser image that depicted Logan in a battle outside a remote house in the country. That image (with trailer footage) suggested that Xavier, Logan and X-23 escape the Reavers and hold up at the house - only to be ambushed there. While the fight valiantly, it seems to take Xavier expending the last of his psychic powers to save the day, and after that heroic sacrifice, Logan and X-23 seemingly bury him in the woods around the house.
This is all just speculation of course, so all these teaser images could be depicting something entirely different that we know nothing about. But we'll be here, guessing, with every new tease.

Logan takes inspiration from the comic book story "Old Man Logan" by Mark Millar and Steve McNiven. Logan is directed by James Mangold and stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, and Dafne Keen. The film will be Jackman's final performance as Wolverine.
Logan hits theaters on March 3, 2017, followed by Deadpool 2 on January 12, 2018. Movie versions of Gambit, New Mutants and X-Force are still being developed.
