Deadpool - we love him, but we can't always take him seriously.

The Merc With The Mouth is known for his potty mouth, uncouth sense of humor and, of course, saving the world.

In a recent interview with Empire Magazine, Deadpool (the comic book character NOT Ryan Reynolds) was asked a few questions about his thoughts on the year 2016.

After he suggested that Netflix's revealing documentary The Amanda Knox Story would have been better with him in it, he revealed his favorite movie of the year.

"Hunt For The Wilderpeople. Serious answer."

We're not quite sure when Deadpool had time to watch this perfect little gem of an indie film, considering he probably spends of his time with unicorns or whatever, but he made an excellent choice!

Hunt For The Wilderpeople, directed by Taika Waititi, is a perfectly cast film, that tells a rather deep and charming story, which was a very refreshing addition to this past summer's slate of box office let downs.

Ricky and Uncle Hec is a timeless tale of overcoming differences in the face of adversity and tragedy to become a real family.

Raised on hip-hop and foster care, defiant city kid Ricky gets a fresh start in the New Zealand countryside. He quickly finds himself at home with his new foster family: the loving Aunt Bella, the cantankerous Uncle Hec, and dog Tupac. When a tragedy strikes that threatens to ship Ricky to another home, both he and Hec go on the run in the bush. As a national manhunt ensues, the newly branded outlaws must face their options: go out in a blaze of glory or overcome their differences and survive as a family.

Equal parts road comedy and rousing adventure story, director Taika Waititi (WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS, upcoming THOR: RAGNORAK) masterfully weaves lively humor with emotionally honest performances by Sam Neill and Julian Dennison. A hilarious, touching crowd-pleaser, HUNT FOR THE WILDERPEOPLE reminds us about the journey that growing up is (at any age) and those who help us along the way.

Hunt For The Wilderpeople is now available on DVD and Blu-Ray.
