Marvel Releases New Captain America: Secret Empire Teaser

The Secret Empire is coming, and Marvel has released a new teaser for their big upcoming event.

The previous teasers alluded to the involvement of the Star Spangled Avenger himself Captain America, as they've all featured his shield design in the center. The initial teasers told readers to "Trust The Secret Empire" and that "The Secret Empire Will Defend You." Now it seems that the Secret Empire, whatever it turns out to be, will have some opposition.

The newest teaser includes the text "United We Stand", and features a gathering of some interesting heroes. Spider-Man (Peter Parker) spearheads the group while Captain Marvel, Rocket Racoon, Captain America (Steve Rogers), Black Bolt, Black Panther, Black Widow, Logan, and Deadpool follow him into battle. The most curious additions here are Black Panther, Logan, Captain Marvel, and Black Bolt. Captain Marvel, Captain America, and Black Panther were all involved on opposite sides of the second Civil War event, and Logan and Black Bolt are locked in a war of survival in the pages of Inhumans vs. X-Men.

The even bigger thread is that Captain America might very well be a part of the Secret Empire, as he's been an undercover Hydra Agent since his history was rewritten by Kobik, the sentient cosmic cube. Whether he is acting of his own accord here or is working against the heroes remains to be seen, as he is in the midst of dethroning the Red Skull from his lofty Hydra perch.
