James Gunn became an instant household name after the success of his 2014 mega-hit, Guardians Of The Galaxy. Now, the sequel to the film is in post-production, and he's getting ready to embark on one of the film's most exciting aspects.
We're talking of course, about the score.
While the original Guardians film is widely known for its use of classic rock songs, the score was one of the best from 2014. Tyler Bates knocked it out of the park, and it looks like he and James Gunn are about to get to work on Vol. 2.
In a post on Instagram this weekend, Gunn shared a photo of himself, and girlfriend Jennifer Holland, boarding a plane.
The caption mentioned that he was on his way to London to work on the new Guardians score. He called the scoring of a film his "favorite part of filmmaking."

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is written and directed by James Gunn (Slither). The film marks the return of the original Guardians, including Chris Pratt (Jurassic World) as Peter Quill/Star-Lord; Zoe Saldana (Star Trek Into Darkness) as Gamora; Dave Bautista (Spectre) as Drax; Vin Diesel (Furious 7) as the voice of Groot; Bradley Cooper (American Sniper) as the voice of Rocket; Michael Rooker (Jumper) as Yondu; Karen Gillan (The Big Short) as Nebula; and Sean Gunn (Gilmore Girls) as Kraglin. New cast members include Pom Klementieff (Oldboy), Elizabeth Debicki (The Great Gatsby, Everest), Chris Sullivan (The Knick, The Drop) and Kurt Russell (The Hateful Eight, The Thing).
