Iron Fist may have only debuted just a few days ago, but if the track record of the other Netflix-based Marvel Cinematic Universe shows is any indication, we very well could be getting an announcement about a second season in the coming months.

With the first season laying much of the groundwork of Danny Rand's origin and his battle against The Hand, the season ended on a rather open note with a handful of directions the show could progress. Actor Sacha Dhawan, who plays Davos, Danny's friend turned arch-nemesis, thinks a second season would focus a large part on the animosity we last saw between the two characters.

"The crux of Danny and Davos' story I think really begins towards the end of [Iron Fist] season 1," Dhawan told Radio Times. "And I think they didn't want to start it straight away into 'The Defenders,' and wanted to save it for series 2."

In Iron Fist lore, Davos is to Danny Rand as The Joker is to Batman. The two are bitter rivals as the former believes he should be holding the Iron Fist mantle over Danny, a person who feels is an outsider to K'un-Lun.

Dhawan confirmed in the interview that he wouldn't be appearing in The Defenders and it's unlikely he'd appear in any of the confirmed follow-up seasons of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, or Luke Cage, so our best bet of seeing the Steel Serpent would be a second season featuring the Living Weapon.
